Innocence
Today at The Death Pool we would like to welcome Innocence which passed away a couple of weeks ago.
TDP: Innocence welcome to The Death Pool.
I: Thanks so much. To tell you the truth I can't believe that I hung on as long as I did.
TDP: No shit. Heck I didn't even know that you were still alive until you died. How did you go?
I: Well when the planes started dropping out of the sky and landing into buildings I didn't see much chance in me going on.
TDP: How do you feel that it was your fault?
I: Well at one time I could coax, cajole or sometimes drag you stupid humans kicking and screaming into my train of thought. But man, that shit just put me out of commission. How can I still persuade people that everything is going to be alright?
TDP: Why do you think that some people just lose sight of the big picture?
I: Well I think that they haven't lost sight.
TDP: Really?
I: Sure. They've just created their own big picture and I've seen some of the Polaroid's and let me tell you I've seen prettier shit in police department files.
TDP: So where did some people lose sight of you?
I: I don't know. Maybe it was Jerry Springer or that Bin Laden dick. Hell it could have been me.
TDP: You?
I: Well sure. All these misguided and vicious folks somehow feel that they are still innocent in all of this and that what they are doing is right. How can killing over 5000 people possibly be right? I must have failed them somewhere.
TDP: What about all the folks who have clung to you with a blind eye thinking that everything is going to be alright?
I: Well I have a brother.
TDP: Cool what's his name?
I: Vengeance.
TDP: Hold up there big fella. Do you think that's such a good idea? If we start talking and believing in your brother there aren't we all in fact doomed?
I: That may be true but I can't do it anymore. I'm done. I'm sick of people twisting me in every direction and using me as they see fit.
TDP: What about all the children of the world who's eyes you have been a fixture for so many centuries?
I: I also have a sister.
TDP: What's her name?
I: Compassion.
